Confirmation Preparation
The process of preparation take two years. Discipleship Training Year 1 & Discipleship Training Year 2 end with students celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation in the spring of their Discipleship Training Year 2. The process emphasizes three main areas critical to becoming active Catholics:
- Discussion of life as we live it in relationship to God and community
- The need to be responsible stewards of the gifts we have been given, with emphasis on looking at how we can give back to God and to our community
- The recognition of our past traditions as they lend themselves to our current faith development
The format for these two years consists of an exploration of what it means to live a Catholic lifestyle. Each year (September - May) is where our teens review the core teachings of our faith and how they are designed to help us live in the real world.
Discipleship Training Year 2 teens are also required to write a letter to the Archbishop requesting to receive the sacrament of Confirmation.
Confirmation for 2024 is on Monday, May 20 at the Cathedral in St. Paul at 7:00 pm.
