Saint John’s Bible This Week
This weekend’s illumination is from the Book of Amos and is titled Demands of Social Justice. The artist, Suzanne Moore commented that many of the pieces she worked on have been about choice, the alternatives of light and dark, obedience and disobedience; and this is no exception. Stop by the St. John’s Bible in the Gathering space and spend some time with this incredible illumination. You can also find it on the Saint John’s Bible’s website at www.saintjohnsbible.org and click on SEE THE BIBLE.
What does this passage tell us about God’s mercy and judgement?
Cemetery Clean-Up
As per our Cemetery Decoration Policy, cemetery staff will remove floral designs and flowers, both natural and artificial from the graves seasonally, or when these arrangements have become unsightly. The cemetery will be cleaned up beginning October 13, at which time seasonal (spring/summer) items will be removed. Please refrain from placing fall/winter items on graves until after October 16.
Reminder that any plant stands, vases and flower pots are allowed, but must be affixed to the ground. One vase, plant stand, pot is allowed per grave. Metal plant stands that meet our guidelines are available to purchase from the parish. The placing of personal items, toys, keepsakes, photographs and other items is highly discouraged and prevents our groundskeepers from mowing/trimming close the grave markers. If items of importance to you are removed from graves, please understand that it is for the safety of all.
A copy of this full policy is available to anyone – please stop by the parish office or contact us at 651.784.3015 to have one sent to you.
