Faith Formation Year 1 DTS

Year 1 Discipleship Training: may begin as early as 9th grade with young people who have participated in Faith Formation or attended Catholic School. Year 1 Discipleship Training will follow the Chosen: Your Journey to Confirmation, presented by Ascension Press. The goal of the program is to provide a powerful, life-changing experience as the Candidate prepares to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, through knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Faith, as well as addressing and answering questions about life and to challenge him or her to embrace a life of faith. 

Year 1 will include a one day retreat at St Joseph of the Lakes, along with 12 in-person sessions throughout the school year (from September to April), a special session for the Candidate and their Sponsor, as well as service opportunities throughout the year. 

Each Candidate will be provided a Student Workbook, a Parent Guide and a Sponsor’s Guide. A parent presentation and Introduction to Chosen will take place

Middle and High School Feed My Starving Children Food Packing Evening

Middle and high schoolers and their parents are invited to volunteer with St. Joe's at a Feed My Starving Children food packing session on Wednesday, January 28th, 2026 at the Coon Rapids location. We'll meet at St. Joe's at 6:15 PM and travel to and from FMSC together by chartered school bus. Please register via the Google Form below.
