How You Can Help

Staff contact for Charity & Justice is Denise Walsh. You can reach her at [email protected] or at 651-784-3015 x 110.

Wondering how you can help during this Covid-19 time?  St. Joe's has received many requests as of June 19, 2020 from the non profit organizations we work with and here's how you can help!

If you have any questions about these drop offs please contact the parish office at 651-784-3015.

Youth "New" Coat Drive

It's that time of year when having a warm winter coat is very needed in Minnesota. We are promoting a cold weather clothes drive for new coats, hats, mittens, boots and blankets. We can't take anything used at this time, but we really appreciate any new donations which can be dropped off at door #4 or after Masses in the drop off bins. All items will be distributed to local schools, Alexandra House, Hope4Youth, and White Earth Reservation. Our Winter Clothing & Coat drive ends on October 29, 2020!

White Earth Reservation

They are looking for gently used or new kitchen pots and pans, baby clothes, and diapers.

Social Justice Project - Stepping Stones

We are always striving to make the world a better place and we have a simple social justice project you might like to be a part of!  We want to spread a message of love, hope, and kindness to our friends at Stepping Stone Emergency Shelter and the people at Loaves and Fishes in St. Paul.  Here’s what you’ll need:

  • plastic zip baggies
  • store bought cookies (like Oreos; cookies without nuts are preferred)
  • small slips of paper with your messages of kindness, love, and hope (Thinking of you!  You are loved!  Have a wonderful day!)

We ask that you wear a mask and gloves when doing this for health safety.  Put 3 cookies in a baggie, slip in your note of kindness, love and hope and seal it up.  Drop off at church inside Door 4 Atrium (by the Faith Formation wing).  We will have a collection bin there.  Make as many as you like – we serve dinner to about 60 people once a month at Stepping Stones and about 130 people at Loaves and Fishes so we need lots of these cards and cookies.

Thanks for making the world a better place St. Joe’s!  We miss you!  Please let me know if you have any questions - [email protected]

Centennial Area Food Shelf

We are collecting non-perishable food items inside the Atrium Door #4 (Faith Formation Entrance) and are delivering items dropped off to the food shelf twice a week.

We heard from the CAFS and this is what they are specifically asking for: any and all non-perishable food items, and they are very short of personal hygiene products: full sized shampoo, soaps, deodorant/Kleenex/paper towels and toilet paper. But they reiterate they will take any and all shelf stable items you want to donate at this time.

We are currently taking two loads of items per week to the food shelf as they have said that in the last two weeks they have seen a 100% increase in the number of families coming to their food shelf.

Alexandra House

We are collecting items to distribute to Alexandra House and as of June 30 they are asking for diapers, baby wipes, new bath towels and hand towels as well as cleaning supplies, and feminine products.

These items can also be dropped off in the Atrium of Door #4 and marked Alexandra House.

Hope 4 Youth

Hope 4 Youth is another organization that we at St. Joe’s support and they are in need of the following items during this time: Feminine pads and tampons, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, and Head and Shoulders Shampoo.

These items should be dropped off in the Atrium of Door #4 and marked Hope 4 Youth.
