Next Sunday, February 23, at the 10:00 am Mass we'll celebrate Fr. Ken Pierre and offer our gratitued to God and to Fr. Ken for his 22 plus years of weekend ministry to our parish community. Amazingly Fr. Ken began at St. Joe's only after he had already retired from a life-time of ministry that included:
Ordination to the priesthood in 1963, Secretary at the Second Vatican Council in Rom, Rector of St. John Vianney Seminary, Professor at the University of St. Thomas, Pastor of St. Peter's Church in Mendotat, Pastor of Annunciation Church in Minneapolis and Chaplin at Cretin Derham High School in St. Paul.
Bearing a resemblance to the railroad giant, James J. Hill, Fr. Ken could also be found at the James J. Hill House leading tours during his retirement years.
The celebration will continue after Mass as we enjoy the Lumberjack Breakfast in the Great Hall with Fr. Ken. If you would like to leave a gift or card for him please bring it next week, or you can drop it off at the parish office. We love you Fr. Ken, we will miss you, your stories, your warmth, your love and your faith. May God bless you always!
