St. Joseph of the Lakes is proud to have an active faith community - there’s always something going on! Be sure check the listing below for news & events. And don’t forget to check back often for updates!
This past Pentecost (June 8-9, 2019), the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis began a Synod process. The goal of the Archdiocesan Synod is to help Archbishop Hebda discern, through a consultative process, the pastoral priorities of our local Church today – and into the near future. Your participation, as the Catholic faithful, is key to a successful Synod. You are invited to participate by offering your prayers, pastoral concerns, and ideas for moving this Archdiocese forward. Learn more about the Synod and see a listing of Prayer and Listening events scheduled for fall 2019 – winter 2020 at www.archspm.org/synod.
St. Joe’s is looking for friendly people to Usher at our Masses. We especially need help at our Saturday 5:00 pm and Sunday 8:30 am Masses. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to serve together. Training will be provided. A few of the duties include: taking up the collection, dismissing for communion, and keeping tabs on security during Mass. If you’d like more information please contact Andrea Grasse in the parish office or at [email protected].

Movies & Theology - Thursday, December 12 at 6:30 pm in Rooms 101-103
Come join us as we complete the fall series of “Movies and Theology” with a well-known classic, “It’s a Wonderful Life.” This Jimmy Steward and Donna Reed film is shown on TV every year, but perhaps you really have not seen the WHOLE MOVIE! Most showings on TV are edited heavily to run in time allotted (which means making room for lots of commercials). Even though it is still advent, this film brings many theological topics for discussion. Appropriate snacks will be provided! Come and bring a friend or two. We meet in Rooms 101-103.
Our St. Joe's Parish Visioning Sessions - Saturday, December 14 & Sunday, December 15
The Parish Pastoral Council is working to renew the long term vision for St. Joe’s. It’s important that we hear from all parishioners as we work to create this new vision and plan for our future. We encourage all parishioners to attend one of three sessions scheduled for Saturday, December 14 after the 5:00 Mass, and December 15 after the 8:30 and 10:00 Masses in Room 103 to discuss our future. Please join us to share your ideas to help us identify and prioritize our long-term goals and initiatives.
