Holy Week Begins Next Weekend

Holy Week Begins Next Weekend

Lent always goes by quickly and this year is no exception. Next weekend Holy week begins with Palm Sunday on April 12 & 13. At Mass we’ll bless palms, process into the Church triumphantly as Jesus did into Jerusalem, read the Passion from Luke’s Gospel, and solemnly recess from Mass in silence. This all begins a truly amazing week that captures our hearts, minds and souls each year as Lent blossoms into Easter.

Holy week invites us into the deepest mysteries of our Faith as we journey with Jesus in his way of the Cross. I love Holy week, and I’m sure you do too. Please look at the schedule below and plan to participate in these Sacred liturgies at the heart of our Faith.

Last Minute Confessions

We’ll have some “last minute” confession opportunities before Easter. The first is next Saturday, April 12th from 3:30 to 4:45 PM. There will be a second priest along with me to hear your confession and grant absolution. Then Wednesday, April 16, from 6:30-8:30 PM I’ll be in the confessional as well.

Lenten Almsgiving: Lakes Area Life Center & Alexandra House

This weekend we have our final special almsgiving collection for the Lenten Season to support women in crisis and their children. The Lakes Life Care Center supports women in crisis pregnancies so that they have the assistance that they need to bring their child to birth as well as supporting them after their child arrives. The collection will also support the Alexandra House which offers a safe place for women and children to find shelter who are in abusive relationships and need protective help.

Thank you for your generosity to those in need, and for your sacrificial giving which helps us on our way to salvation.

Lenten Blessings,

Fr. Bill Deziel
