Halloween, All Saints Day, All Soul’s Day, and a Bishop Ordination!

If you’ve never been blessed to celebrate a bishop ordination, now is a great opportunity! Fr. Kevin Kenney will be ordained by Archbishop Hebda (information below). As an auxiliary bishop he’ll be a “helper” to the archbishop, celebrating Confirmations, visiting parishes, addressing concerns, etc. He’s fluent in Spanish and will be particularly instrumental with our Spanish speaking parishes. I’ve known Fr. Kenney since we overlapped for a semester in seminary back in the 1990’s. He is very approachable, personable, prayerful, and ever willing to assist. Please pray for him as he begins this new ministry to our Archdiocese. May God Bless you Bishop Kevin Kenney!

Halloween at the Rectory: Stop by!

Parents, bring your children to the rectory on Halloween to receive a candy treat and a special spiritual item as well. I’ll be handing out the goodies from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The word Halloween comes from All Hallow’s Eve. which traditionally celebrated the eve of all Saints Day, November 1. Happy All Hallows Eve Everyone!

All Saints Day/All Souls Day

Friday, November 1, All Saints Day, is a Holy Day of Obligation. New, this year, I’ll be offering a special “commuter” mass at 6:30 am in the historic church. Join us before heading off for work. Mass will be 30 minutes. The next day Saturday, November 2 is the Feast of All Souls. At our regular 5:00 pm Mass we’ll pray by name for all those who have died this past year from our parish.

Thank you, Max George, Eagle Scout Cemetery Project

High School Senior Max George recently completed his Eagle Scout project at our cemetery. Max planned the project and

organized volunteers to refurbish and replace 14 Stations of the Cross near the baby section. It was a great effort that will be appreciated by all for years to come! Take a look, and use one of the handy Stations of the Cross guides that he conveniently placed at the first Station. Thank you Max! Congratulations on completing your Eagle Scout project and thank you to all our volunteers who assisted!
