Welcome Jacob Wilson New OCIA Director! We are happy to welcome Jacob Wilson as our new OCIA director. Jacob comes to us from Pennsylvania where he taught religion at a couple of Catholic High Schools. He and his wife Ellen recently moved to Minnesota where she is from and they happily welcomed their first child Nikoli a few months ago.
Our OCIA classes will begin on November 7 at 6:30 pm. I’m thrilled that we already have people interested in participating and we welcome even more! OCIA stands for Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. If you or someone you know is interested in learning about the Catholic Faith to perhaps become Catholic, please call Jacob at the parish Office and he will be happy to share more on how to participate. Welcome Jacob! It’s great to have you in our St. Joe’s family!
Hurricane Relief Thank you! A great big THANK YOU to all who so generously gave to the hurricane relief collection last weekend. Over $6,600 was offered! The funds go to Catholic Charities USA for their relief efforts in multiple states. Please pray for those suffering from these terrible storms!
Faithful Citizenship Please pick up a copy of the Faithful Citizenship document from the U.S. Council of Catholic Bishops at the welcome desk, or parish office. Our bishops provide this reflection to assist us as we discern our vote. Each of us is called to follow our conscience and each of us is responsible for thoughtfully forming our conscience. The document can also be found at the USCCB website.
Rectory Open House Next Sunday! All are welcome to an open house at the rectory next Sunday, October 27, immediately following the 10:00 am Mass. Join fellow parishioners and me as we enjoy refreshments and our beautiful rectory house! It is a joy for me to live here! I thank our parish pastoral council for hosting this fun event!
Autumn Blessings!
Fr. Deziel
