What to Know for this Week

Priest Ordinations Next Saturday

Please pray for the five men who will be ordained to the priesthood this Saturday, May 31,  by Archbishop Hebda at the Cathedral. The archbishop will lay his hands upon them, anoint their hands and pray for them along with the thousands gathered for this ancient ritual. Each man will vow his life to celibacy and obedience in serving God as a priest until death. It’s always inspiring to witness. If you have never been to an ordination Mass, I highly recommend it! I plan to be there and I hope you can be too!

Please pray for them; Benjamin Eichten, Sachary Ochsenbauer, Randall Skeate, Alexander Hall, and Alexander Marquette.

Pope Leo XIV

It’s been interesting following the news of our Holy Father as speculation and intrigue swirls about what might change (or not) in the Church. We are used to that approach with politics, but that’s not really at the heart of what Church leadership is about. Our Holy Father as our pastor is called to lead us as a family of faith more fully into the mystery of Christ. Changes in policies, procedures, styles and approaches inevitably occur with each pope. But the most important role of any pope is to lead each of us to be changed more fully into the image of Christ. We are called to be changed! That may not seem flashy to the media, but one changed life in Christ saves a soul, and impacts many others! May God Bless Pope Leo as he begins his papacy! May his leadership help each of us to be remade more fully into the image of Christ! May we all keep him in our prayers!

Viva El Papa!
