Happy Easter!

What a day it was last Sunday as it snowed throughout the Springtime celebration. Because it is so much of a warming season the snow did not last long. It was beautiful to watch for the very fact I knew that it would not remain on the ground for very long. Our Triduum liturgies were wonderful but odd. I do not think I have ever finished an Easter Vigil in an hour. This year we would have confirmed four individuals and I am hoping that as Pentecost falls after the May 4  “home-stay” order that we may be back to church. If this happens, we will try to confirm them at one of the Masses. We also have to figure out when our first communion celebration will take place. Everything really calls on the date when we can begin to gather again. Until then it is a waiting game.

I used to feel a guilty pleasure for going home in the afternoon to watch reruns of Wagon Train; now that I am home bound, I find myself not so interested in them. I guess it is a case of having the guilt lifted, thus the pleasure is not so forthcoming.  I am also finding myself in the historic church more often, and once I pray there then I go home and say Mass. In all my years I had never said Mass by myself, it has always been with a few people, but to try to minimize anyone gathering in a group of more than ten I now say Mass at my dining room table.  I do not like it; and it is creating a growing fondness of gathering with you. In my prayers I keep you close to my heart and I am hoping you are doing the same for me.
