I hope you are having a Blessed holiday with your family and friends this weekend. I am so very thankful for the past year and 5 months in which I have had the privilege to be your pastor. You are a great bunch of people to be with!
This week you will receive a letter from me announcing the beginning of the "Invest in our Future" campaign in which I hope we can raise $150,000 by Christmas to give ourselves a Christmas present of a new sound system together with a high quality video system. You will be hearing from me in person next Sunday as I take a little time after the homily to ask for your contributions. Between the enthusiasm in the pews and the wonderful sense of ownership that the Saint Joe's parishioners have I really believe that we can and will accomplish this.
As we enter into the Advent days let us contemplate both the darkness of the present days (as winter falls upon us) and the great hop of the light that has come and will come again into the world. May this season be a rich blessing for you as we prepare for our Christmas celebration!
