Knight of Columbus State Gathering

This weekend the Minnesota State Knights of Columbus will be gathering here at St. Joe’s for the installation of one of our parishioners, Marc Peters, as the State Deputy. I want to welcome the Knights of Columbus State organization and to congratulate Marc on this singular honor. On Saturday night we will be joined by bishop Andrew Cozzens as the presider of our Mass and then he will speak to the gathered Knights at a dinner following Mass.

We have a very healthy Knights of Columbus Council in our parish. There is a good mix of young and the more experienced members of the parish. Because of that they are capable of providing many services to our community. They are not just limited to the wonderful meals that they provide; instead they are involved in the White Earth Indian reservation, cleaning up a portion of the freeway, cleaning and maintaining the parish grounds, leading the rosary on the last Sunday of the month, leading the stations of the cross. These are just a few of the activities that they contribute to our community.

Over the past years they have been awarded as a “star” Council multiple times. There are very few Councils that win this award throughout the Country, but ours have received the star multiple times. They have been a great asset to our community and we celebrate with them the election of Marc Peters as the State Deputy.
