St. Joseph of the Lakes

On the day of the anniversary celebration I received a beautiful plaque saying: Congratulations, 40th Anniversary Rev. Michael Anderson, Church of Saint Joseph of the Lakes. Along with the plaque I received a check that was the accumulation of many gifts that were collected in the weeks leading to the anniversary celebration. I want to thank the over 78 families that contributed to the gift fund for Fr. Ken, Deacon Tom and myself. Your gifts were very generous! I also want to thank the Men’s Group, CCW, Knights and Ladies Auxiliary who hosted the reception. Ken McDonald coordinated all the menu/food preparation/kitchen crew, and was greatly assisted during the week by Jerry Bauer and Susan McMullan  (she did the decorating). I want to thank Amy Moore, Andi Million and Anne Serwe for all the support they gave to prepare for the celebration.

The Mass itself was beautiful all the way through. I loved the instruments that added to the choir’s music. Thank you to Andrea Grasse and all those involved in the Liturgy who created a festive and uplifting moment for all of us in attendance. I owe a special word of gratitude to Don Trudeau for helping to shape this event.

Thank you to all who were part of this beautiful celebration. It really reminded me of a Christmas or Easter Sunday celebration as both the choir and the congregation responded to each other with wonderful enthusiasm.

It seems like just three or four weeks ago we were complaining about how cold it was, and now as we near the middle of the Summer we complain about the lack of rain and the heat. The summer pushes on too quickly, so make sure to pause this Fourth of July and enjoy the break with your family and friends.  All too soon we will be once again complaining about the cold!
